Welcome

Welcome to the Cramond Boat Club, situated at the mouth of the River Almond, only 4 miles from the centre of Edinburgh.

We cater for all types of small craft, including dinghies, small cruisers and motorboats. The Club organises dinghy and keelboat racing, open regattas, cruises and family fun days.

The Cramond Boat Club is an RYA Recognised Training Centre and is approved for training Club members in the RYA National Sailing and Power Boating schemes.

The clubhouse includes changing rooms, workshop and storage as well as a bar and function room.

Bar Marker Pole Replaced

The marker pole at the west end of the river bar, which has been missing since the February storms, has now been replaced. This is channel marker no. 9 on the Pilotage chart. There is currently no depth gauge on the pole, but a new one will be added in due course. In the meantime, there is a white band on the pole which indicates a depth of between 3ft and More »

Postponed ... Again

Unfortunately, Crane-in has been postponed again.

The forecast for Saturday 13th April shows wind gusts of 40mph which exceeds the operating limit of the crane.

Crane In Postponed

Due to the forecast of very strong winds and flood warnings, Crane-in has been postponed for a week from Saturday 6th April to Saturday 13th April, starting at 1430. The work party to tidy up after Crane-in will now be on Sunday 14th April. The scheduled Freesail on Saturday 13th April and Dinghy work parties on Sunday 7th and Sunday 14th April have been cancelled and will be re-arranged in due course. More »

Spring Work Parties

Recently we have had a number of work parties to prepare for the coming season. Lawrie Elliott and Campbell Calder had a trip onto the mud flats to check the river navigation buoys.
