    Sailing Sunday 19 June

Sailing resumed last Sunday after we lost a number of events due to the current run of high winds. We combined four events on Sunday with a Cruiser race, dinghy race and Cadet & Kids (Sea Monkey) training. Even though the winds were lighter than of recent it was still a feisty 20mph west by north west creating a very lumpy sea at Cramond. The dinghy racing was dominated by Ewan Christison with two firsts

    Shottie in a Yottie

Yesterday we had a very successful "Shottie in a Yottie" event, this is where Cruiser owners volunteer to take dinghy sailors out to try yacht sailing. The conditions were lovely on the water and those that took part had a great sail. Many thanks to all the cruiser sailors who supported this event it was great to see so many boats out.

    Sun after the Rain

Friday evening 20th May was our latest RYA level 1/2 training and we also had a Free Sail taking place. The session started with a quite blustery south by south west wind and the added joy of a good dollop of rain but before the evening was finished we had glorious sunshine and excellent training conditions.

    Good Sailing!

On Saturday 15 May we had a very successful Free Sail with a lovely force 3 to 4 south westerly and as you will see from the photographs all types of craft were out sailing; cruisers, sailing dinghies and George Taylor in his motor boat! There was also racing on Sunday 16 May however with a feisty force 5 easterly and sometimes a little more wind.... the Safety Boat team were too busy for photography!

    Adult Training Starts

On the weekend of 30 April / 1 May our RYA Level 1&2 training got underway. The Saturday saw a blustery south westerly breeze and quite cool conditions for the trainees. Sunday was much kinder with a light easterly and much milder conditions and judging by the large smiles on all the faces on the trainees coming ashore it had been a very successful weekend. Training resumes this Friday 20 May at 1600.

Cramond to the Bay of Bengal!

On the weekend of 30 April / 1 May we held our opening cruise to Aberdour. The boats that took part had a great time. On the Saturday evening, having not pre booked the local hotel we were unable to get a meal in Aberdour however a quick bus journey saw us arrive at the Bay of Bengal (Dalgety Bay) where the hungry sailors got fed! Sunday dawned a sunny and warmer day with

    Safety Boat Refresher Course

The Safety Boat refresher course held on Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 April was a huge success. Alan Mackenzie, Senior Instructor, lead Saturdays training and Callum Calder, RNLI Instructor, Sundays training. Ben Galloway, John Kenworthy and Drew Pratt also contributed. Many drills were practiced on both days - a special mention has to go to Jennie & Howie Stansfield and Alex Brunner who spent more time in the water than most to help provide rescue
